2. Relationship Between DBS and Magnum Infosystem

TaxPower GST is developed by Magnum Infosystem Pvt. Ltd. DBS manages the customer-facing business relationship for TaxPower GST, including product enquiries, demonstrations, licensing guidance, onboarding and first-line customer support.

Magnum’s role includes, as applicable:

  • developing and maintaining TaxPower GST;
  • operating or controlling the underlying software licensing system;
  • controlling or processing licence activation and renewal;
  • providing developer-level or product-level support where escalation is required.

Relevant customer, organisation or licence-related information may therefore be shared with Magnum where reasonably required for product registration, licensing, activation, renewal, product support or related customer administration.

  • other licence-related information reasonably required for the applicable activation or renewal process.

The precise information involved may differ according to the applicable enquiry, registration, installation, licensing, activation, renewal or support process.

4. Website Forms

When you submit a form on taxpowergst.com, your submitted information may be:

  1. stored in the website’s form-submission system;
  2. sent by email to authorised DBS personnel and, where relevant to licensing or support, authorised Magnum personnel; and
  3. used to send you an acknowledgement relating to your request.

Website forms may also record limited technical information associated with a submission, such as IP address, browser or user-agent information, submission date and time, source page or referrer, and form or action information.

We may use this information for enquiry handling, operational administration, security, record keeping and troubleshooting.

5. Purpose-Specific Contact

When you submit a demo, trial, purchase, licence, renewal, support or channel partner request, we use the information you provide to respond to and manage that request.

This may include contact by telephone, email, messaging channels, or authorised customer-support or communication systems.

An enquiry or service-request acknowledgement is not treated by itself as unrestricted consent for unrelated promotional marketing. Where separate consent or an opt-out mechanism is required for future marketing activities, it will be handled in accordance with applicable law.

6. How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries;
  • arrange product demonstrations or trials;
  • understand product, edition or licence requirements;
  • conduct reasonable sales follow-up;
  • coordinate purchases, payments and licence registration;
  • coordinate licence activation and renewal with Magnum;
  • assist with implementation, installation and onboarding;
  • provide training and first-line customer support;
  • escalate appropriate technical issues;
  • manage channel partner enquiries;
  • maintain customer relationships;
  • communicate service, licensing, renewal or support information;
  • maintain commercial, accounting and customer records;
  • investigate complaints or disputes;
  • protect our website and systems and detect misuse or security incidents; and
  • comply with legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, court or Government requirements.

We seek to use personal information for purposes reasonably connected with the interaction or relationship for which it was obtained.

7. Customer Relationship and Communication Systems

Information from website enquiries and customer interactions may be recorded in customer relationship management, email, messaging, support or other authorised business systems used by DBS.

These systems may be used for lead and enquiry management, follow-up, customer communication, purchase coordination, licence and renewal coordination, support and customer relationship management.

We may use authorised service providers to support these activities.

8. Sharing With Magnum Infosystem

DBS may share with Magnum Infosystem Pvt. Ltd. the customer, organisation and licence-related information reasonably required for purposes such as:

  • product registration;
  • licensing and licence administration;
  • licence activation;
  • renewal;
  • customer-type or edition administration where relevant; and
  • developer-level product support.

Magnum is involved because it develops TaxPower GST and operates or controls the underlying licence activation and renewal arrangements.

Except for information required for licensing, activation, renewal and related licence administration, TaxPower GST does not, as part of its normal software operation, automatically transmit, sync or share the customer’s routine GST compliance data, saved GST Portal credentials or customer database with DBS or Magnum.

If a customer separately requests technical support and knowingly authorises remote access, DBS or Magnum may access information visible during that authorised support session to the extent reasonably necessary for the support purpose. This is separate from normal software operation and is not an automatic data sync.

9. Other Service Providers and Disclosures

We may use authorised providers supporting functions such as:

  • website hosting and operation;
  • form processing and form-submission storage;
  • email delivery;
  • customer relationship management;
  • authorised communication and messaging;
  • remote support and online meetings;
  • website analytics and performance measurement;
  • security and technical administration; and
  • authorised GSP or API services supporting applicable GST workflows.

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to professional advisers, auditors, insurers, banks or payment providers, courts, regulators, law-enforcement authorities or Government agencies where required or permitted by applicable law.

We do not treat information submitted for a TaxPower GST enquiry as permission to sell that information to unrelated advertisers.

10. Licence Activation and Renewal

A TaxPower GST trial or licensed installation may require registration or licensing information.

DBS may assist in collecting, coordinating or transmitting information reasonably required for the applicable licence process. Magnum Infosystem Pvt. Ltd. ultimately controls or processes the underlying TaxPower GST licence activation and renewal process.

11. Remote Support and Troubleshooting

DBS generally provides first-line support. Where remote assistance is required, support may be provided using AnyDesk, UltraViewer, Chrome Remote Desktop, Microsoft Teams or another suitable remote-support or meeting tool.

Remote access occurs with the customer’s knowledge and authorisation. Where remote access is provided:

  • the customer supplies or authorises temporary session access;
  • the customer may terminate the session;
  • access should be limited to what is reasonably required for support;
  • the customer should retain control of passwords, OTPs and Digital Signature Certificates; and
  • authentication credentials should not be permanently disclosed to DBS.

DBS does not routinely retain customer databases, screenshots or backups as part of the remote-support process.

If a matter cannot be resolved by DBS, it may be escalated to Magnum. Any access to customer information during an authorised support session is limited to the support purpose and is distinct from normal software operation.

12. Customer Software, GST Compliance Data and GST Portal Credentials

A customer’s substantive GST records, customer database and GST compliance data are maintained within the customer’s own software or customer-controlled system environment.

For supported GST compliance workflows, TaxPower GST may require or use statutory or business identifiers and GST Portal credentials within the customer’s software/database environment. Depending on the supported workflow, TaxPower GST may connect with or exchange relevant data with GST Portal/GSTN systems, e-Invoice systems, e-Way Bill systems or authorised GSP services through direct integrations or API connections.

DBS does not centrally store its customers’ or their customers’ GST compliance data, GST Portal credentials or customer databases. As part of normal TaxPower GST operation, those records and credentials are not automatically transmitted, synced or shared with DBS or Magnum merely because they are stored or used in the customer’s TaxPower GST environment.

Data exchange with GST Portal/GSTN, e-Invoice, e-Way Bill or authorised GSP systems for a supported compliance workflow is separate from central storage by DBS or Magnum.

Where a customer requests support, the customer may separately authorise remote access. In that situation, DBS or Magnum may view information visible during the authorised session to the extent reasonably necessary for troubleshooting. Such support access is distinct from automatic software syncing or central data storage.

Customers remain responsible for appropriate access control, authorised use, security and backup practices for their own software environment, compliance data and stored credentials.

13. Cookies, Analytics and Website Technologies

The TaxPower GST website uses cookies and similar website technologies for website operation, security, form functionality, performance measurement and analytics.

As of the Effective Date, the website uses services including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Microsoft Clarity. Depending on their configuration, these services may process device, browser, network, page-view, interaction, performance or similar usage information and may use cookies or comparable technologies.

These services are provided by independent third parties and are subject to their own terms, privacy practices and technical configurations.

You may control or restrict cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies or website technologies may affect website functionality or measurement. Where applicable law requires a particular consent or choice mechanism, the relevant requirement will apply.

14. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as it is reasonably required for the purpose for which it is held, or for a longer or shorter period where required or permitted by applicable law.

Relevant retention purposes may include enquiry handling, reasonable follow-up, trial and licensing activities, ongoing customer relationships, renewals, support, accounting and tax records, commercial records, legal and regulatory obligations, disputes and claims, fraud prevention and security.

Different categories of information may therefore have different retention periods.

DBS does not centrally retain customers’ GST compliance data, GST Portal credentials or customer databases as part of normal TaxPower GST operation.

When other personal information is no longer reasonably required, it should be deleted, anonymised or otherwise managed in accordance with applicable law and DBS’s retention practices.

15. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, operational and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, loss, misuse or disclosure.

Measures may include, as appropriate, access restrictions, system and account security, website and server security, secure communications configuration, backups, logging, security monitoring and operational procedures.

No electronic system or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We therefore do not make an absolute guarantee that a security incident can never occur.

Where a cyber-security incident triggers a statutory reporting requirement, we will address the matter in accordance with applicable law.

16. Your Requests and Rights

Subject to applicable law and the circumstances of the request, you may contact us regarding:

  • review of personal information you have provided;
  • correction of inaccurate or deficient information;
  • withdrawal of consent where that right applies;
  • deletion or erasure where available under applicable law;
  • questions about use or disclosure of your information; and
  • privacy grievances.

Some information may need to be retained because of licensing, accounting, legal obligations, transaction records, disputes, fraud or security requirements, or other lawful retention grounds.

India’s Digital Personal Data Protection framework is being brought into operation in phases. Additional rights and obligations under that framework will apply when and to the extent the relevant statutory provisions become operative.

18. Children’s Information

TaxPower GST is intended for professional, business and organisational use and the website is not directed at children.

We do not knowingly seek TaxPower GST sales, demo, trial, licensing or channel partner enquiries from children. If you believe that a child has provided information to us inappropriately, please contact the Grievance Officer.

19. Third-Party, GSP and Government Services

TaxPower GST and the website may involve, connect with or link to independent systems or services including:

  • GST Portal / GSTN systems;
  • e-Invoice systems;
  • e-Way Bill systems;
  • authorised GSP services;
  • payment providers and banking systems;
  • communication platforms;
  • remote-support or meeting tools;
  • analytics providers; and
  • other Government or third-party websites and technologies.

TaxPower GST may use direct integrations or API connections, or authorised GSP services, for supported GST workflows. Those Government, GSP and third-party systems are operated independently and may have their own privacy policies, terms, security practices, availability and technical requirements.

DBS does not control the privacy or security practices of independent Government, GSP or other third-party systems.

20. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy if our website, business processes, products, technologies or legal obligations change.

The current version will be made available on the Privacy Policy page of taxpowergst.com. The applicable effective or revision date will be displayed on this page.

Where applicable law requires additional notice or consent for a material change, we will address that requirement accordingly.
